Deviation Actions
Unless anything written here below has anything to do with my artistic progression it is just a ramble of pointlessness meant to procrastinate and draw attention to myself so you don't believe I have ceased all DA activity and is probably not even interesting.

Let's be frank, up until a few months ago I was pretty pointless. I still am, but nowhere near as much as yester because I produce and work every day on drawings and more on writing as well. That said, ever since I realized this is what I wanted to do and started doing something about it I've noticed I am nowhere near as sexual as I once was. I'm thinking either my past sexuality was a result of pent-up frustration or I've simply refocused the energy I used to put on my enjoyment, leading to impotence (I can't think of a feminine corresponding word). Has this happened to anyone else who didn't realize "from birth" they loved drawing and creating?
It continues...
It took a while but it continues.
Why do we crave magic?
I've been doing a bit of philosophical restructuring as of late, and while pondering many things I started to think about my relationship to fiction, and I asked myself why I like stories about impossible, ridiculous things like magic, gods, super powers, good and evil, and so on. And I thought it might be best with some outside perspective, so I thought I'd ask you. What is the appeal of stories that deviate from reality?
In my cynical of hears I think fantasy is inherently escapism. It simplifies the world, offers larger-than-life characters, and reality tends to be unchanging and depressing. Breaking it becomes a liberation. But that does
Game of Thrones in a Lovecraftian society with bes
-tial aliens.
I honestly don't know how to define Sam Fennah as a writer. Is there something horrifying and nihilistic to his writing? Certainly. But it's not meant to unnerve or elicit cheap thrills. It's more a backdrop to something more alien than drama but recognisably familiar.
The book isn't out yet, but it seems really promising.
[LookAtWhat-I-Found] The Gallows - reupload
Earlier today I shared a review I made of 'The Gallows'. Subsequently I discovered some flaws in the audio so I had to delete, edit and re-upload it.
